Big jobs, small jobs...we have them all! And we need YOU!

Check out the list below for the many different ways you can serve our

teachers, faculty, and students this school year!

HKES 2023-2024 Volunteer Opportunities

5th Grade Helpers: We have so many amazing things in store for our 5th graders this year! But we need all hands on deck to make everything happen. If you have a 5th grader at HKES & would like to know more about 5th grade parent volunteer opportunities, click HERE to sign up!

5th Grade Event Coordinators: Interested in spearheading one of our 5th grade events? Click HERE to sign up!

Academic Enhancement: We’d love your help with spelling/geography bees, testing snack assembly, & help in the art room! Click HERE to sign up!

Birthday Table: One day each month during the school year, the PTO sets out a "Birthday Table" in the lunchroom. Each child who has a birthday that month (we account for summer birthdays, as well) gets to come by the table during their lunch period & grab a cupcake. Volunteer duties typically include: setup/cleanup & manning the table during 1 of 2 lunch periods. Click HERE to sign up!

Class Party Assembly: Parents pay $12 class party dues via the PTO website at the beginning of the year so that we can ensure each student receives the same party experience, a "party-in-a-bag," if you will. We provide the same snack, craft, & games to each class. We need hands to help assemble & distribute party supplies to classrooms for the Winter Class Parties & the Spring Class Parties. Click HERE to sign up!

Color Run: Interested in helping with our annual Color Run that will take place on Sunday, April 7, 2024? We would love your help! Click HERE to sign up!

Fall Festival Interest: The HKES Fall Festival is our main fundraiser with 100% of the donations and proceeds directly benefiting Hall-Kent Elementary students. We need all hands on deck to pull off this amazing event! Interested in learning more about all the ways you can help with Fall Festival? Click HERE to sign up!

General Volunteer: Not sure exactly when/where you can volunteer but still want to help? We would love to have a list of folks willing to receive a call, text, or email for when we need an extra set of hands! Click HERE to sign up!

Hospitality Grade Level Teacher’s Lounge Coordinator: Help support our hospitality team for your grade’s teacher’s lounge! (Teacher’s lounge occurs once a month & is supported by a different grade each month). Click HERE to sign up!

Library Helpers: Are you interested in helping Mrs. Kelley in the library this year? She will need parent volunteers to help with Pal's Day Library Book Dedications (September 22nd), the Book Fair (February 2-14) and other little projects in the library. You will be added to the library volunteer email list by signing up.  Please know you are not committing yourself to helping the entire event, only helping when you can.  Thanks for supporting Mrs. Kelley and our school library. Click HERE to sign up!

Pal’s Day: We need volunteers to help with various needs for Pal’s Day on September 22, 2022 which could include: set up/clean up, guiding Pals to classrooms, assisting in the library, etc. Click HERE to sign up!

Room Parents & Class Helpers: As ROOM PARENT, you will serve as the point of contact for the 2023-2024 school year. It is your responsibility to: ensure messages from the teacher, administration, & PTO reach each parent in your class, check in regularly with your teacher to see if they need help in the classroom, be present for class events, call on your class helpers for assistance with aforementioned duties, etc. Room parents will be more involved than in years past, so we’re asking only for volunteers who have enough time & space for this position.  As a CLASS HELPER, you will be called upon to help the room parent &/or your teacher with various needs throughout the school year. Click HERE to sign up!

**We're also asking that parents with multiple students only sign up for room parent of one of their child's classes. This ensures we leave spots open for others to get involved! If the spot is still open in a few days, that would be an appropriate time to then fill that additional room parent spot.

Yearbook Committee: Help our yearbook coordinator prepare this year’s book! Jobs may include obtaining photos, dedication collections, yearbook distribution, & more! Click HERE to sign up!
